Engagement strategy for the state of North Rhine-Westphalia

An example of volunteering: "I get involved because everyone has the right to have wind in their hair." Natalie Chirchietti goes on rickshaw rides with residents of retirement and care homes with Radeln ohne Alter e. V.

By developing a civic engagement strategy for the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, the state government aims to improve the framework conditions for civic engagement and help to attract new volunteers and jointly shape a diverse society based on solidarity.

On February 2, 2021, the state government adopted the engagement strategy for the state of North Rhine-Westphalia. Additional funding of 24 million euros will be made available over the next four years. This will be used, for example, to set up a state service point for civic engagement and to implement a micro-grant program "2000 x 1000 euros for engagement".
